WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
The Well is a labor of love. While Bloomingdale Christian Church is the visionary and driving force behind this endeavor, our goal is not to build another traditional church facility. We are simply compelled by the love, life and teachings of Jesus to serve our neighbors in His name.
Let us be clear: there are no strings attached. You do not need to think like us, look like us, or believe what we believe to be a vital part of this project – whether as a financial contributor, a volunteer or a neighbor receiving care. We believe that investing in the dignity of Bloomingdale is simply the right thing to do. The space belongs to our entire community and we invite you to help us build it!

Wagoner’s grocery store used to keep a “Have a penny, leave a penny. Need a penny, take a penny” dish at the checkout. It’s a beautiful model for community life. Every one of us has something to offer and every one of us encounters times of need. Jesus taught us to love and serve our neighbors, but in our busy, segmented lives, the hardest question to answer is often: How? Where?
Bloomingdale is an incredible place to live, but we are missing a central gathering space – a true anchor where we can cross paths, connect around shared interests and look after one another with pride.
MORE THAN A MISSION. A COMMUNITY CENTER.
The Well seeks to change that. Located in the heart of town, this historic property provides the perfect footprint to build a space that fosters genuine connection. This is not a transactional, clinical handout center for people down on their luck. This is a safe, attractive and well-appointed community center built to inspire civic pride. It is a space designed for everyone to both give and receive – instilling purpose, meaning and multi-generational volunteer opportunities in our town.

This is a Bloomingdale-centered project. Our mission is to take care of “our own one square mile.” To ensure excellent stewardship of your investments, The Well will focus it’s resources directly on honoring and lifting up individuals and families in the greater Bloomingdale area.
